The summary
Name the domain you have analysed, the thing you built that people use, and one decision your work changed. Tools come last.
- Say the domain — retail, payments, logistics — because analysts are hired for context as much as SQL.
- One artefact (a dashboard, a model) and who uses it beats a list of tools.
- One decision with a rupee or percentage figure shows your work mattered.
- Keep tools to the three that define you; the skills section carries the rest.
Works
Data analyst with 4 years turning retail and payments data into decisions. Built the weekly margin dashboard a 60-person commercial team runs on, and found the pricing change that added ₹3.2 crore in annual gross margin.
Does not
Detail-oriented data analyst skilled in SQL, Python, Excel and Tableau with a passion for data-driven insights.
Experience bullets
Analyst bullets have a shape: what you analysed, what you found, what changed. The third part is what most résumés leave out.

Skills worth listing
Two groups are enough: how you analyse, and what you analyse in. Name the SQL dialect or warehouse if the job does.

Format
- One page. Analysts with ten years still fit on one.
- Numbers in every bullet; if a project had no measurable outcome, say what decision it informed.
- A certification only if it is current and recognisable (Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Analytics).
- No charts or graphics on the résumé itself — the parser cannot read them.
